| The Sunday Walking Group | |
|---|---|
The Sunday Walking Group was created by two young ladies in 2004. Originally called The Singles Walking Club, the aim at that time was to get out into the local countryside at the weekend and enjoy a good walk and meet other like-minded people. This great idea blossomed quickly and now the Sunday Walking Group boasts many members of various ages, who meet up each weekend and it\\\\\\\'s not just for singles any more!
The walking group has proved to be so successful and popular that we have had to become quite organized. We now meet together monthly to have a chat and discuss and plan future walks. Increasingly, we also arrange many social events for ourselves and we also enjoy weekends away. So that our members get to know all the latest news of planned walks and events, we produce a monthly newsletter. These newsletters are distributed via e-mail and are handed out at the walk venues or posted if required to those who request them. You can also now view the planned walks in the Newsletter area below by continuing to scroll down. Most of our members are based around the Lancashire town of Preston but our walks take us all around the North West region. We do not charge anything to join, simply just turn up and start walking! We do however request that a small donation of £1 be made after each walk to help us recover small costs as all of our time is donated freely. For an idea of our walk locations have a look at the photographs taken on the walks lately. If you have any ideas or suggestions and if you would like the opportunity to come along and join in, then please do leave messages on the message board provided. I will do my very best to answer your messages as quickly as possible. Happy walking..! Derek Harper Chairman http://www.mini-webs.com/singleswalkingclub/ |
