Founded in 1983, we are a thriving Group based in Coventry in the West Midlands, with about 450 members, offering a wide variety of rambles to suit most age groups and abilities.
Our walks, which take place on Sundays and Thursday evenings (summer months), vary in length from 4 to 14 miles and cover the counties of Warwickshire, Leicestershire, Gloucestershire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire, Northamptonshire and Oxfordshire including the northern part of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Occasionally, trips further afield are made by coach and holidays are organised in the UK. The Group also carries out footpath maintenance work and promotes the aims and objectives of the Ramblers' Association |

Saltley Hillwalkers are a Birmingham based group offering a programme of walks to suit a wide range of tastes,abilities and levels of fitness.The programme includes day walks, weekends and trips of a longer duration in addition to a range of social activities. The programme of walks operates throughout the British Isles and includes winter walking in Scotland, Snowdonia and the Lake District,walking tours in the Alps have featured previously and are planned for the future.
A midweek rambling section offers a slightly easier programme of Midlands based walks. The Group is open to all sections of the community and we welcome enquiries from beginners and experienced walkers alike, we also offer navigation training,loan of equipment and shared transport. We tend to walk mainly between 7-10 miles on varying types of terrain, with occasional shorter walks of 5-6 miles and perhaps a meal afterwards. We walk usually every other weekend with some Wednesday walks in the summer. Travel to walks is usually in your own car. |
