The opportunities for walking in the Rila national park area are endless The Rila national park is the largest in Bulgaria at 81046 hectares and holds some very exciting opportunities for hiking away from the masses, with the Rila Mountain range being the highest range in the Balkans with the highest peak, Mousala, standing at 2925m. Of the many attractions in the local area are the seven lakes. The seven Rila Lakes are a famous part of Bulgarian geography and are located in the northwestern part of Rila Mountain, not far from Beli Iskar. Tiny streams connect the seven lakes, which are situated above each other at heights varying from 2100 to 2500 m.

With just eight bedrooms sleeping a maximum of 20 guests, we offer holidays with a personal touch. The Pirila Mountain Hotel is situated in a picturesque valley between two mountain ranges, both of which are National Parks, and the area is a paradise for walkers of all ages and abilities. The scenery here is breathtaking and we offer all-inclusive walking holidays with a local English-speaking guide who can tell you all about the wildlife, history and culture of the area. Our hotel is newly built in a traditional Bulgarian style. Every bedroom is en-suite and has a TV, internet access and a balcony with outstanding views. Downstairs we have a mehana (Bulgarian restaurant/bar) where we serve both English and Bulgarian food, freshly prepared from local organic ingredients. In front of the hotel there is a south-facing balcony, perfect for relaxing with a drink in your hand and watching the sun set behind the mountains! If you want to take things easy, you can laze on the sun loungers round our outdoor pool.
