The walks, which take you through stunning countryside and lovely medieval villages, vary in distance from the fairly simple 8km to the more challenging full day 21km. The package includes 7 nights B&B and 6 nights delicious evening dinners prepared using fresh local ingredients. You can of course extend your stay with us and/or simply arrange your own walking itinerary. When you are not out walking there are many places to visit including Rocamadour, Figeac, Loubressac, Autoire and Carennac – the last 3 being special villages listed nationally for their ambience and beauty. Facing south at 850m high it has spectacular views down the valley and of the local ski slope. Le Cerf has 3 large bedrooms, all with en-suite bath/shower rooms, a large living room which includes lounge with wood burning stove, dining area, a fully equipped modern kitchen and direct access to the balcony with dining table and comfortable chairs. The local tourist office has maps and guides of strolls around the lakes to difficult walks in the Parc Naturel Regional des Ballons des Vosges – Ballon d’Alsace highest peak at 1250m. In winter there is downhill, cross-country skiing or organised walks in the mountains using snowshoes. Plan your own tour with our help or join an organised walking party. We live next door to the gite and are here to make your holiday as enjoyable and relaxing as possible. We will help you organise your walking holiday, if wished arrange drop off and pick- up points and welcome you back to your gite with a home cooked meal in the evening. Les Vosges Mountains, N.E. France, are an easy 6 ½ hr drive from Calais or 1 ½ hrs from Basel airport. Pick-ups could be arranged. Other places to visit are Strasbourg (90 mins), Freiburg (90 mins) or if you want to ease those aching muscles spend a day at Vita Classica, nr Freiburg, and enjoy the thermal spa experience.

The living area is open plan with a fully fitted kitchen/dining area with table, chairs, dresser, fridge, cooker (gas), toaster, microwave, electric kettle & a full complement of saucepans, china and cutlery. The living area has a sofa, coffee table, fireplace & television (with UK Sky). There is a washing machine in the ground floor laundry room & garden table, chairs & BBQ for use in the garden or on the terrace for those balmy summer evenings.The apartment has central heating throughout & is suitable for holidays & short breaks throughout the year.
