Bedfordshire Rambling Club
Ivel Valley Group of the Ramblers` Association

Bedfordshire Rambling Club The Ivel Valley Walkers near Bedford were founded in 1984.
They currently have around 300 members, many of whom walk on a regular basis.

Members of other local groups often join us too, knowing they will get a good walk and a friendly welcome.

We regularly welcome new people on our walks and many go on to become members.

We provide some 190 walks throughout the year, the largest number of any of the local groups. In our programme you will find:
Sundays: a full day’s walking of about 12 miles, with alternate weeks being two half day walks of about 7 and 5 miles.
Wednesdays: a morning walk of about 7 miles, usually followed by the option of a pub lunch.
Every alternate Thursday: a slower paced walk (we call them ambles) of about 4 miles.
Every alternate Tuesday: a longer mid-week walk of between 9 and 13 miles, conducted at a brisk pace with shorter stops, finishing mid afternoon.
Please bring food and drinks for the whole day as a pub/cafe stop is not expected.
Some Fridays: a walk of about 7 miles accessed by public transport
Some Thursdays from May to August: Informative/interest walks between 2 and 5 milesMay to August: an evening walk of about 4 miles once a week.
