Casa da Aldeia_vila Ver?o and vila Primaveira
Walking Holiday PortugalChill out and relax in true Portuguese style at Casa da Aldeia
The two cottages, which date back to 1911, were originally part of a traditional Portuguese farm. However, they have both been renovated to offer the perfect Portuguese holiday experience.
Both of the cottages still contain many of the original authentic details such as a well, traditional oven and the preserved tile flooring. This traditional Portuguese feel at the Casa de Aldeia resonates throughout the local area of Santa Babra de Nexe.
Each cottage can sleep up to four people, with one bedroom that can sleep two people and another luxury double sofa bed that can accommodate an additional two people.
The two Portuguese holiday homes have their own private entrance, a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, living room and outdoor eating area, and they can be booked together or individually. The cottages also come with free Wi-Fi. Bed linen and towels are provided.
Shared areas include the rooftop terrace, garden with sun beds and swimming pool, courtyard with access to the BBQ.
Casa da Aldeia has beautiful views of the entire Bay from Faro and is also a good base for the whole Algarve.
Algarve is literally at your feet.
Each morning, the local baker and fish monger pass by the cottages where you can purchase fresh bread and fish. There is also a brilliant butcher just 10 minutes walk from the cottages. We grow our own herbs which are available be to all our guests. We also make our own yoghurt, jam and ice cream.
If you want to change things up and experience some of the local city life then Faro is just a 12 minute drive away. With an array of restaurants, cafes and a beautiful beaches Faro is a great insight into what the Algarve has to offer.
Away from the hustle and bustle of Faro you can find a range of beautiful island beaches that can be reached by a small train or boat. Away from the sea, you can head to Monchique where you will find the best views the Algarve has to offer.
Sticking with the theme of local produce there are a number of local markets in which you can purchase all the local delicacies including cheese, olives, bread and fresh fruit.
We are always here to help and have lots to recommendations from cycling routes to restaurants, so please feel free to ask us any questions!

Walking in Portugal is a rewarding and relaxing way to discover the country`s unspoilt natural beauty, picturesque villages, ancient monuments and fascinating wildlife.
Portugal is one of the least populated, and consequently least built up, countries in Europe. So even in popular tourist areas like the Algarve you`ll be pleasantly surprised by how quickly you find yourself in peaceful countryside and there are eleven national or natural parks which are are renowned for having some of Europe`s richest wildlife habitats with a wide variety of animal, plant and bird life.
Walking in Portugal is stimulating as, although it is a small country, it is full of contrasts and there are always a few surprises in store- a stunning view here, an unassuming café serving local delicacies there, the first sighting of an intriguing native bird or a delicate wild orchid.
From the white-washed cottages and citrus orchards in the South to the bleak mountains, granite farming villages and lush green valleys of the North each region has its own distinct identity. As you explore more of the country you will find an abundance of different landscapes, habitats, architecture, lifestyles, festivals and of course yummy, local food.
The Atlantic islands of Madeira and the Azores are a walker`s paradise with their spectacular beauty, warm climate and civilised pace of life. Subtropical Madeira is known as the "floating garden" thanks to its exuberant flowers and plant life, while the venerable forests of the Azores are home to many unusual native species. As you hike along the hill tops, keep an eye on the sea below as dolphins, whales and countless sea birds also relish the peace of these islands.
Please contact us for suggestions for your Portugal, Madeira or Azores walking holiday. We hope to see you soon!
